St. George’s Cathedral Summer Concerts continue on Thursday June 21 from 12:15pm to 12:50pm with a performance by violist Marcus Thompson and pianist Tomoko Inui visiting from Montreal. The concerts continue every Thursday through August 30. Admission is free, with a freewill offering collected. The Cathedral is at 270 King St. E. (at Johnson) in Kingston. The program will feature an exploration of the beautiful and diverse repertoire for viola & piano, including music by J.S. Bach (Sonata in g minor), Ernest Bloch (Suite Hébraïque), York Bowen (Sonata in c minor), and Arthur Benjamin (Jamaican Rumba). Thompson serves as a member of the Viola Faculty at New England Conservatory of Music, and Inui was awarded “Bruneau Prize” while at McGill University
